Bratttleboro Cross Country
|
@ New England Championships |
Cross Country is like track and field; almost everyone on the cross country (xc) team is also on the track
team. In cross country we run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) across different terrain. Sometimes we run on dirt, grass, pavement,
track, snow, hills, flat, or a combination of many of them. It is very tiring; I have temporarily lost my vision during or
after a race more than once. Cross Country teams can have an unlimited amount or runners but only the first 7 runners times
count. A runner gets the same amount of points as the place they finished. The goal is to be the team with the lowest number
of points for their top 7 runners. The boys and girls teams do not race together but they do practice together.
